Biography
Omar Kholeif has held senior positions at major contemporary art institutions internationally. He was Manilow Senior Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and Curator at Whitechapel Gallery in London. He has worked at Sharjah Art Foundation in a senior curatorial capacity. He is currently Professor of Global Art Theory and Practice at the Glasgow School of Art. He is the author of more than twenty books including You Are Here: Art After the Internet and Goodbye, World! Looking at Art in the Digital Age. He has curated exhibitions across more than forty countries. His writing and curatorial work address contemporary art, digital culture and modern Arab art histories. He is the founder of imagine/otherwise, a publishing imprint developed in collaboration with Sternberg Press, which examines the constitution of modernism through an expanded geographic and diasporic lens.
