Located on the Tomorrow Today floor, the OSS Hope Simulator hands visitors control of a space station's life-support systems. Guided by an AI assistant, participants must balance energy, waste and emissions toward zero across a series of escalating scenarios. Developed with technology partner SAP, the exhibit turns the museum's near-future themes into a hands-on decision-making challenge — and occasionally subverts expectations, as when the optimal outcome requires switching off energy-hungry AI and letting the humans do the work.
