About the work

The title pulls in two directions at once: frequency as a property of sound and light — the invisible vibrations that Mohebi has worked with since her shift toward healing modalities — and sight as the act of looking, of being seen, of perception itself. The medium reinforces this duality: acrylic paint and acrylic embroidery on the same canvas surface, two ways of marking that operate differently, one fluid and one structural, meeting in the same composition. Embroidery has a long tradition in the Gulf as a domestic and communal art form. Here it becomes something else — a way of stitching frequency into a surface, of making the invisible tactile.
